I didn't get the opportunity to post some of my favorite looks from this beautiful Givenchy Fall 2010 Couture collection when it first showed. Ricardo Tisci was inspired by Frida Kahlo and her three obsessions: religion, sensuality and the human anatomy. The dominant motif of the collection was the skeleton, which was laid flat out in the lace appliquéd on a long tulle column or in three dimensions of dense clusters of crystals, pearls and lace on the back of a jacket in double silk duchesse satin. My favorite feature would be the skull with angel wings set in the middle. Tisci described the collection as being,"A romantic way to see death". What else can I say, this collection was definitely Couture Goth.

Next week marks the beginning of New York fashion week at it's new location, The Lincoln Center. I am highly anticipating the designers and their collections. I will be posting some of my favorite collections here. Who are you looking forward to seeing?
