The September Issue

On Thursday I went to a viewing of the documentary"The September Issue", directed and produced by R.J Cutler, which follows Anna Wintour and her Vogue counterparts around for 8 months while they are preparing to release the September 2007 Issue which featured the exquisite Sienna Miller. I Loved the movie; it possessed so much insight into the editorial world and behind the scenes at Vouge.

Some people may call Anna the"Ice woman" but I believe that you have to be that way in order to get what you want, when you want it. Anna speaks her mind and takes no prisoners, she can be very intimidating with her empowering stare . She is so determined and knows exactly what she wants and what direction she wants Vogue to go, and that's why it reigns as the "Fashion Bible". One of the Vogue staffers referred to Anna as "The Pope"; without Anna Fashion would not be fashion. She broke barriers by putting an African American model on the cover of Vogue and also by putting celebrities on the cover; she saw that coming way before her rivals did.

Grace Coddington is such an inspiration because she never saw herself in modeling or even in the editorial world. She has such a keen eye for detail and the editorials that she produces are immaculate; she is the "Michelangelo" of Vogue. Her editorial speaks to you and shows a different view point of fashion. Grace is very passionate about what she does and fights for what she believes in.

Andre Leon Tally believes in looking good no matter what. Even when he was playing tennis he was decked out in Louis Vuitton and expensive jewelry. Andre was such a joy to watch on the big screen.

The September Issue is an inspirational movie and inspirited me to want to work in editorial even more than before. It is definitely a must see!!!
